Gentlemen, I thank you for the materials and analysis attached about choices 1. and 2. Without total understanding of background and future concerns, I must admit my view may carry little weight. One thing I do know is that the education in mother tongue from PuiChing has served me extremely well and I treasure that very much. Regarding speculation that the general populace of Hongkong may value Pui Ching more if it changes its means of education to English, I would dismiss that kind of thinking as little value. The current trend favors more value on Chinese language. Confucius Academies are welcomed and expanding rapidly. While peoples everywhere are aspiring to learn Chinese, why should we slight our valuable mother tongue? (and all the benefits of thousands of years of ethical and moral supremacy associated with the language). If the people of Hongkong slight Chinese in favor of English, let it be. I would dismiss that as short sighted and misunderstanding the world trend. My children are all born and educated in North America and understands little Chinese due to lack of need. I sometime feel that could have been the biggest mistake I ever made. I hope my humble opinion will be helpful to choosing the future path for my beloved mother school.

Yours truly,
Vincent (1963)

Dear Relatives and Friends,

We'd like to inform you that our father, David Yue Kwong Wong 黃汝光 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008. He passed away at the Atherton Baptist Homes, Alhambra, California, where he had been a 15-year resident, and in its health center for the last year. At 98 ½ years young, he was alert, cheerful, content and in good spirits and relatively good health, except for his asthma and being hard of hearing.

Dad and Mom celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in July, and on Sunday, September 14, our family gathered for a small but joyous Moon Festival dinner. It was filled with lots of good food, fun and laughter, especially when Dad happily recited Lee Bai 李白之《靜夜思》(床前明月光)poem and a familiar children's rhyme 月光光 about the moon. He ate two kinds of ice cream (his favorite) with moon cake for dessert.

As was her daily routine, our mom Lillian would sit with Dad in his room from mid-morning to night, reading, chatting and enjoying each other's company. Each night, before she left for her own room, he would hold her hand and as she kissed him goodnight, he would press her to return soon. Mom said goodbye to him the same way for the last time on Monday night, September 15. Early Tuesday morning around 4 a.m., a nurse heard Dad coughing and went to get his medication, and just that quickly, Dad died peacefully.

We are extremely grateful to Dad for all that he gave to us: life, knowledge, resources and above all, a stellar model of Christian faith and principles. To celebrate the Lord's wonderful blessing of our father with our family and friends, we will gather in thanksgiving on

Dear Friend of the Pui Ching Family,

Merry Christmas!

I'm glad to forward an editorial comment, and relevant feature story, published by the Ming Pao Daily on 24 December 2007 for your information. Ming Pao Daily is one of the most authoritative newspapers in Hong Kong. I hope we all share the joys that Pui Ching is always a leading educational institution in Hong Kong and the SE Asia! Taking this opportunity, I wish to extend my heartiest appreciation for the enthusiastic support to the management of Pui Ching from alumni in different parts of the world.

Have a prosperous 2008!

Hi,

H. Y. Woo created the first Pui Ching Worldwide Reunion Song for LA reunion.  He is now showing us how to make Chinese poem.  I was his classmate of 1954 class when he jumped into the 1953 class for his academic excellence at Puiching.  Let's thank H. Y. Woo for his poetic theory on http://www.puiching.org/database/notes.htm and appreciate his contribution to us all.  My words to him are shown as follows:

Dear PC alumni association,

Kindly see the following web link on our class webpage ( class of 1959).

http://www.lighterspc.com/talk714.html

I believe this sad news needs to be published in the PC alum magazine and on the PC alumni association webpage.

We have really gone down hill, and PC can no longer compete in Math with other schools in HK. PC alumni around the world need to be aware of this fact.

Feeling both angry and sad whenever I 'm exposed to this subject matter.

My first encounter was way back in 2000, presented by L W Lui in HK Pui Ching and again a year later in a banquet in Toronto when Lui toured Canada and USA. This current email is the 4th encounter.

Back to these 2 current letters' opinions. I do agree with the idea of a special session early in the banquet to allowing all an open debate/voicing window on this sensitive matter subject. The debate format must be western but not Taiwan style (surely you know what I mean) to disallow/eliminate any induced residual bad feelings.

Depending on the presence of P/Cers, the session duration must be tailored to allowing all a minimum of 2 turns to fully expressing opinions.

Thanks allowing me to voice my opinion.
